Wahlroos-Ritter Elected to AIA/LA Board
Our esteemed Associate Dean, Ingalill Wahlroos-Ritter, has been elected to the Board of AIA/LA this Fall. Newly installed members must provide a platform for their tenure on the board, and Ingalill proposes to:
- Help make architecture accessible and culturally relevant to a broader audience that reflects the cultural diversity of Los Angeles.
- Promote design excellence, particularly in service to social engagement, to expand the audience of architectural appreciation and encourage the design of beautiful places.
- Leverage her experience in academia to encourage emerging young architects to enter architecture and help diversify the profession through the streamlining of the professional licensing process and increasing the exchange of knowledge between the academy and the profession. Disciplinary diversification also has the potential to increase leadership possibilities for architects and broaden professional opportunities.
- Advocate for innovative public policy changes targeting improved building performances, based in her experience as façade consultant.
